Kinetics & Affinity
To further the understanding of molecular interactions it is useful to study their kinetic properties. For example, in the development process of new pharmaceuticals, kinetic experiments provide insights into potential drug candidates as well as help define lead targets.
Kinetic & Affinity Characterization - Monoclonal Antibodies
The Attana systems are robust and accurate tools for determination of kinetic and affinity data.
Attana Benefits
- Determine on/off rates and equilibrium dissociation constants of antibody–antigen interactions.
- Real time, high quality measurements provide more detailed kinetic data for the binding event compared to other technologies such as RIA and ELISA.
Kinetic & Affinity Characterization – Polyclonal Antibodies
The primary goal of antibody production is to obtain high titer, high affinity antiserum for use in experimentation, diagnostic tests or therapy. Detection and monitoring of the purification of these polyclonal antibodies can be time consuming and troublesome. The Attana A100 C-Fast and Attana A200 systems can be used to determine the kinetics of the interaction between two different polyclonal antibodies and their respective peptide and protein antigen.
Attana Benefits
- Kinetic information about the interactions, such as association (kon) and dissociation (koff) rate constants can be derived and the affinity of the interaction calculated.
- Can be used to follow purification of polyclonal antibodies, compare immunizations, monitor titer changes and antibody maturation.
- Save time and cost by screening polyclonal antibodies against an immobilized antigen.
