The pharmaceutical and biotech industries have come under increased pressures of cost reduction and time-to-market, resulting in a growing demand for research instruments which are increasingly sensitive, flexible, reliable, easy-to-use, and inexpensive.
With more than 15 years of hands-on experience of the Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) technology, the founders of Attana realized that there was a large existing demand and growth potential for effective biosensors. After benchmarking their previous work against other existing sensor technologies, they understood that the inherent capacity of the QCM technology could lead to smaller, faster and more sensitive and inexpensive biosensors.
Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Attana AB was founded in 2002 with the goal of |
|
becoming a world leader within sensor technologies for detecting, registering and measuring chemical and biochemical reactions.
Attana’s vision is to develop and market the world’s foremost biosensors, based on the QCM technology, with applications within pharmaceutical and life-science research.
Today, Attana develops and sells proprietary continuous flow biosensors along with consumable sensor chips with various selective and metal coatings. Attana’s systems are employed by leading universities and biotech companies within application areas ranging from drug discovery to surface science, yet all with a common goal: understanding molecules.
