Unique Sensor
Surface - Polystyrene:
Polystyrene, a unique and versatile biosensor surface for
label-free molecular interaction studies is now available.
Biosensor molecular interaction studies often
require tedious coupling methods. The ELISA technique has,
since its introduction, relied upon the fact that proteins
and some other biomolecules are readily adsorbed to plastics
like polystyrene. In the
Attana Application Example, data is presented showing
that, by using an approach similar to the ELISA methodology,
polystyrene QCM-surfaces can by simple means be protein
coated ex situ and subsequently used for determination of
molecular interaction kinetic parameters.
Benefits include:
- Easy-to-use, yet powerful alternative for
immobilization of proteins and other biomolecules.
- Good agreement with data obtained from other coupling
chemistries and technologies.
- Straightforward screening of different combinations of
monoclonal antibody-antigen sandwich pairs, without the need
of labeling.
- Provides a simple means of optimizing
conditions, such as buffers and additives, used in
ELISA-like tests.
For more information please
click here to download the Application Example.

E-Mobilizer now available
-
Attana has developed a proprietary accessory to the Attana systems for pH independent immobilization of charged molecules, the E-mobilizer. The patent pending E-mobilizer allows for a convenient immobilization of all types of charged molecules to the sensor surface without necessitating change of buffer. This is particularly useful for molecules which carry the same charge as the surface. The E-mobilizer has been tested at, amongst others, Karolinska Institute and is now available as an accessory to the Attana 100 instrument.
More
information about the E-mobilizer is available by clicking
here.
