Background | The QCM Technology | Publications

Molecular interaction studies are becoming increasingly important for selection and characterization of antibodies and other proteins. Offering label-free, real-time analysis of kinetics and affinity, biosensors are now established as valuable tools for development of clinical assays and therapeutics.

Biosensors based on the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) technology have been used for many years in various applications.

Combined with micro-scale fluidics the QCM technology allows real-time monitoring of biological molecular interactions. Being a micro-scale balance, the QCM technology is not dependent on specific optical properties, facilitating interaction studies on a wide variety of surfaces.

Attana AB, is a pioneer in the development of continuous-flow based QCM systems and offers affordable and user-friendly access to molecular interaction studies.
